Sculptra Pre and Post Care Instructions

Understanding the importance of pre and post care instructions is paramount for achieving optimal results. Pre-instructions set the foundation for success, while post care ensures the longevity and enhancement of your efforts.

It is recommended to discontinue the use of Aspirin, NSAIDS, Gingko Biloba, Garlic, Ginseng, St. John’s Wort, Flax Oil, Cod Liver Oil, Vitamin A, Vitamin E or any other essential fatty acids at least 3 days to 1 week before and after treatment to minimize bruising or bleeding. Please consult with your primary physician prior to discontinuing any medications.

Avoid alcohol, caffeine, Niacin supplement, and cigarettes 24-48 hours before and after your treatment. All of these factors may increase risk of bruising and swelling.

Let fillir know if you have a history of cold sores. An antiviral may be prescribed.

Avoid dental procedures (including dental cleaning) 2 weeks prior to your appointment or 2 weeks after your appointment please notify the medical staff at Fillir. We may need to reschedule your appointment to ensure both treatments are free of complications.

Avoid vaccines (flu, covid, etc.) 2 weeks prior to your appointment or 2 weeks after your appointment, please notify the medical staff at Fillir. Your appointment may need to be rescheduled.
Redness or sensitivity might be present (and last up to 14 days).

Use Tylenol for any soreness.

Massage the treated area(s) 5 times a day for about 5 minutes for 5 days after treatment.

Avoid makeup for 24 hours.

Avoid strenuous exercise for 24 hours.

Avoid extensive sun or heat and extreme cold for 72 hours.

If you have swelling, you may apply a cool compress for 15 minutes each hour if instructed to do so by your provider.

Sleep face-up and slightly elevated. This will also help with swelling.
